Collectors, Transporters, and Recyclers

If you're involved in electronic waste (1) collection or data security services or (2) transportation and recycling in Vermont, you may need to register and report under the state's E-Cycles Program.

Registration and Reporting

Collectors, Transporters, and Recyclers must register once every 5 years and re-register when contact or other facility information changes. Events must be registered each time they are held.

1. Collectors

If you collect, sort, or consolidate electronic waste for recycling or provide data security services, you must register with the state.

Collection Events: If you're organizing an event to collect computers and accessories, monitors, printers, or TVs, you must register each event separately, even if it's at the same location multiple times.

2. Transporters and Recyclers

If you transport e-waste from collection points or events to recycling facilities within or outside Vermont, you must register as a transporter.

If you accept e-waste for recycling, reuse, or refurbishment and you run a permanent facility in Vermont, you qualify as a recycler.
