Agency Facilities provides engineering design and construction oversight for the placement of shore fishing platforms for angler accessibility to lakes and streams statewide. Many of these platforms are located on Fish and Wildlife public access areas and are selected based on shoreline habitat conditions that provide the best fishing opportunities.
Typically, these structures help to stabilize an eroding shoreline while also improving the recreational use value. The platforms are designed and constructed to provide shore fishing access to anglers of all ages and abilities, with the platforms, and the access to the platforms, built in compliance with 2010 ADA standards for recreational boating facilities.
