CEGs, SQGs and LQGs:
All containers holding or storing or accumulating hazardous waste must be:
kept closed except to add or remove waste;
placed on an impervious surface, in a structure that shed rain and snow;
protected from freezing;
in good condition and chemically compatable with the waste therein;
SQGs and LQGs:
Containers in satellite accumulation (See§7-310(a) of the Vermont Hazardous Waste Management Regulations) must be:
under control of the operator of the process generating the waste and at or near the point of generation;
marked with the words "Hazardous Waste" and other words to identify the contents;
moved to a short-term storage area within three days of becoming full;
Containers in accumulation in a Short-Term Storage Area (See §7-310(b) of the Vermont Hazardous Waste Management Regulations) must:
be marked with the words "Hazardous Waste" and other words to identify the contents;
be labeled with
words to identify that it is an accumulation container,
the point of waste generation,
the generator's name, address and EPA identification number,
the name and hazardous waste identification number(s) of the hazardous waste, the words "Hazardous Waste - Federal Law Prohibits Improper Disposal. If found, contact the nearest police or public safety authority or the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency."
be dated with the date the container is full;
have a minimum of 24 inches of aisle space between containers;
Containers in storage in a Short-Term Storage Area (See § 7-311(f) of the Vermont Hazardous Waste Management Regulations) must:
be labeled with:
the generator's name, address,
the facility EPA ID number;
and "Hazardous Waste-Federal Law prohibits Improper disposal. If found contact the nearest police or public safety authority or the EPA";
be labeled with the name and hazardous waste identification number of the waste in the container;
be dated with the date waste was first used to accumulate or store hazardous waste ("first drop");
have a minimum of 24 inches of aisle space between containers;
