Other activities involve close coordination with the Commissioner’s Office on departmentwide planning efforts and strategic initiatives.

Chief fiscal officer for the department. Oversees and coordinates department budget preparation, oversight of all department accounting functions. Development and oversight of fiscal office policies and procedures, financial statements, summaries and reports. Senior liaison with federal agencies and other state departments, provides guidance to the divisions for the overall creation and implementation of Department policy including formulating and recommending internal control and operating policies and procedures as needed.

Maria Davies, Grant Programs Manager
Responsible for federal grants in the Air Quality & Climate, Environmental Enforcement, and Geology Divisions as well as Solid Waste and Recycling programs in Waste Management and Prevention Division. Responsible for managing Volkswagen Mitigation Funds, Diesel Emissions Reduction Grant funding, as well as, the Solid Waste Management Funds, and several other Federal Grants from various agencies. Main point of contact for all Single Audits related to DEC funding and Subrecipient Annual Reports.

Lindsay Carey, Grants Management Specialist
Responsible for federal grants for the Watershed Management Division, ECO AmeriCorps Program, and the department-wide Performance Partnership Grant. Assists with the management and administration of the Aquatic Invasive Species Program including the Grant-in-Aid Program, which provides financial assistance to municipalities for aquatic invasive nuisance species management programs. Member of the DEC Environmental Justice Team.
