The 12th Annual Vermont Lake Seminar will be held on Friday June 3, 2016
Education Center at Kehoe on Lake Bomoseen
636 Point of Pines Road
Castleton VT, 05735
The Lakes and Ponds Program of the VT Watershed Management Division organizes this event each year, in conjunction with the Vermont Federation of Lakes and Ponds, to celebrate lakes and to encourage residents to join in water quality protection efforts focused on lakes.
The theme for this year’s event is ‘From Policy to Action’. Keynoter speaker, Kris Stepenuk from the UVM Sea Grant Program, will share her experiences connecting volunteer monitoring efforts to natural resource policy and management action. Additional morning presentations include tactical basin planning, grant opportunities, invasive species and an overview of citizen science opportunities in Vermont. Afternoon workshops cover a variety of topics including septic systems and turtle nesting habitat. There’s something for everyone and plenty of opportunity during the day to network with fellow lake leaders from around the state.
