Status of Current (2019) Clean Water Fund Budget Processes

Clean Water Fund Fiscal Year 2019 Budget and Priorities (Final, November 6, 2017)

Fiscal Year 2019 Status:

  • Draft proposed budget recommendations and priorities were made by the Clean Water Fund Board and were posted for a 30-day public notice and comment period through online questionnaire from July 3, 2017 through August 2, 2017.
  • The Board updated the draft budget and priorities based on public comments, and posted its final draft budget recommendations and priorities for a second round of public comment that closed on September 28, 2017. 
  • The Board updated its draft budget and priorities to include an additional $2.3 million bond premium funds, made available by Vermont's sale of general obligation bonds. The Board proposed funding priority innovative projects with these additional funds, and posted its recommendation for public comment via online questionnaire from October 12 through October 31, 2017. 
  • The Board presented and approved its final budget recommendation during its November 6, 2017 meeting.

Your participation in the Clean Water Fund budget process will help the State better understand public priorities for funding clean water improvements in Vermont’s lakes, rivers, and wetlands. There are many opportunities to participate! Please see public participation opportunities, below, as well as upcoming Clean Water Fund Board meetings (open to the public) for more information.

October 2017 Clean Water Fund Public Comment Period: Closed October 31, 2017

The Clean Water Fund Board held a third public comment period before finalizing its fiscal year 2019 budget recommendation. This public comment period only focused on $2.3 million additional bond premium funds, made available by Vermont's sale of general obligation bonds. The Board proposed to support innovative projects with these funds, summarized in Table 10 of the draft Vermont Clean Water Fund fiscal year 2019 budget. The Board will review public comments before making its final budget recommendation during its November 6, 2017 meeting.

Fiscal Year 2018 Status:  Final budget allocations have been updated based on final revenues for Fiscal Year 2017 (ended June 30, 2017) and approved by the Clean Water Fund Board. For more information, see the Clean Water Fund Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Process.

Clean Water Fund Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Budget (Final, April 11, 2016)

Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Status: Funds allocated to agencies through State budget processes and are being administered by agencies to support clean water projects, as described in the above-linked 2016-2017 budget.
