The Department of Environmental Conservation’s Clean Water Initiative Program announces over $1.6 million in Ecosystem Restoration Grants for projects to improve water quality across Vermont.

The Clean Water Fund Board is accepting public comments on their final draft recommended Clean Water Fund Budget for the next State fiscal year.

Governor Philip B. Scott is issuing a proclamation to declare the week of August 20th “Clean Water Week” for the State of Vermont. Vermont businesses, organizations, communities and individuals across the state are taking part in the celebration of Vermont’s waters, and joining the call for action to restore and protect this vital resource.

Effective April 1, 2017 the Vermont Wetland Rules will change from the 2010 version to the recently approved 2017 Vermont Wetland Rules. The purpose of this rulemaking is primarily to make minor administrative updates to the Vermont Wetland Rules, last amended in 2010.

This report summarizes currently available tile drain research, the process the agencies used to solicit input and gather information on the current status of tile drainage in Vermont, a series of management options for tile drain management intended to mitigate adverse impacts to water quality, and recommendations for how to implement each option.
