Davis Bacon and Related Acts Overview

The Davis-Bacon Act, originally enacted in 1931, was put in place to support the hire of skilled local workers and to ensure that any worker involved in a federally-funded public works project is compensated in a fairly and timely manner. The Davis-Bacon Act has since been amended and added to by subsequent acts. The sum of all additions and amendments to the original Davis-Bacon Act is commonly referred to as the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA). On February 17th, 2009, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was enacted and included the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts as federal cross-cutting requirement for all SRF financed projects.
